Chief Ronny J. Coleman has served in the fire service for 44 years. He formerly served as the Chief Deputy Director of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, California State Fire Marshal, Fire Chief for the cities of Fullerton and San Clemente, California and as Operations Chief for the Costa Mesa Fire Department. Chief Coleman has been honored as Chairman Emeritus of the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, Inc. (CFAI) in 2004 and President Emeritus of the Fire Education & Training Network (FETN) in 2003. He has served in many elected positions in professional organizations including President, International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC); Vice President, International Committee for Prevention and Control of Fire (CTIF); and President, California League of Cities, Fire Chiefs Department. Chief Coleman holds a Master's Degree in Vocational Education, a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, and an Associate's Degree in Fire Science.
