Description:
The neuroscience service line is experiencing significant growth and corresponding challenges related to increasing incidence rates of neurologic conditions and the rapidly expanding and costly treatment options that exist today. Changes in the standard of care for the acute stroke patient in particular, are illustrative of the challenges faced by service line leaders in this complex specialty. Changing state mandates and a focus by the federal government on the care of these patients mean rapidly-evolving regulations, transport requirements, and the need for formal certification as a provider, as well as the soon-to-be-released requirements for comprehensive center status. Given the volatile industry dynamics and continued shortages of neuro clinicians and program administrators—especially physicians—building a top-performing team within neuroscience is becoming increasingly challenging…and won’t get any easier in the near future! This session will details the WHYs and HOWs of building a successful neuro team, which can lead to optimized performance in this specialty, critical to the bottom line. Learn how team skill sets and collaboration can lead to increased program viability and better clinical quality and patient outcomes overall. The speakers will present the threats that program vacancies can have on performance, while sharing proven recruitment strategies for finding and placing hard-to-recruit talent.
