Workplace Harassment

Presented by Caryn Tilton

Description: Many States are considering legislation that further addresses the issues of harassment and discrimination. On September 30, 2004, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger enacted AB 1825, a bill that now requires certain California employers to provide two hours of sexual harassment training every two years. Additionally, the Supreme Court and many states have turned up the heat on employers who fail to take precautions against harassment on the job. Courts are holding employers who fail to conduct harassment prevention training to greater liability than those who do provide training. This informative web seminar explains different kinds of harassment, defines what steps employees should take if they feel they are being harassed and provides supervisors with specific techniques for preventing and responding to harassment in the workplace.
